Ever since high school, I have always worked some combination of working while going to school full time, working multiple jobs at a time, or working one job that required more hours/involvement than typical 9-5 jobs. Prior to having Little Girl, I worked full time at a job where I honestly did a little of everything. My main function was running marketing for a property management company. This involved lots of working lunches, late hours and occasional weekend work. It wasn’t my dream job by any means, but for the most part, I enjoyed the work I did. The people I worked with on the other hand were another story… ;).
All of that to say, I don’t know how NOT to work. That’s all I’ve ever know up to this point. Becoming a full-time stay at home mom was quite an adjustment for me. Yes, of course being a SAHM is work, HARD work, but it’s a different kind of work. So I’ve been getting accustomed to a new kind of normal. For as different as this is from my previous life, it feels normal, it feels natural. I feel like this is where I belong and what I’m supposed to be doing.
Now that doesn’t mean that I KNOW what I’m doing… phew, I’m such a noob mom and have so much to learn and have already made some mistakes and have no doubt that I’ll make MANY more. However ,I know that together with RidiculousDad, that we’ll be able to figure it out. I would even hope to imagine that pretty soon we’ll be rocking this whole parenting gig.
